Essays

Below, you will find three essays that depict my goals as a future educator as a learner called, Onward!, a reflective piece of how  my goals have grown and evolved as a MAET student called A Visionary, and lastly, a synthesis essay about my overall learning journey as a graduate called, Yes, We Can! To view each essay within my portfolio, click on the bolded title. All of these essays were composed while taking the Capstone Portfolio Course.

Future as a Learner Essay

As the wise Dr. Seuss once said, “you have brains in your head and feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself in any direction you choose!”

Synthesis Essay

“The winners won’t just be those with more I.Q. It will also be those with more P.Q. (passion quotient) and C.Q. (curiosity quotient) to leverage all the new digital tools to not just find a job, but to invent one or reinvent one, and to not just learn but to relearn for a lifetime. Government can and must help, but the president needs to explain that this won’t just be an era of ‘Yes We Can.’ It will also be an era of ‘Yes You Can’ and ‘Yes You Must.’”

A Reflective Piece: Goal Statement Essay

Bill Gates sagely observed -“Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them, the teacher is most important.”
