Teacher. Wife. Adventurer. Michigander.
This is my seventh year of teaching. I graduated From Michigan State University with a degree in Elementary Education and a Middle School endorsement in Integrated Science. Currently, I am pursuing getting a Master of Art degree in Educational Technology from Michigan State University. I will be graduating in May of 2015. While attending MSU as an undergrad, I worked as a Technical Intern in Education (TIE) in the College of Education. The educational experience I received while at MSU has really translated into real-world benefits that I bring to the classroom.
Currently, I teach at Everest Academy in Clarkston, which is a private Catholic school that is comprised of an International program. Recently, I transitioned into being the 6th and 7th grade Earth and Life Science teacher. For the last 6 and a half years, I taught Computer Technology. At Everest, I taught over 24 classes ranging from Junior Kindergarten to 8th grade. I previously taught part-time with the Berkley School District for my first four years out of undergrad. While teaching for Berkley School District, I taught technology to grades 1st- 8th, coached several sports, and served as a Media Specialist for grades 1st-5th.
Outside of teaching, I love to hike, explore northern Michigan, cheer on the Detroit Tigers and hang out with my family, friends, husband and dog, Duke.
